2021 Budget: Gov Sule’ appropriates Over 112.92billion,for economic recuperation

The Nasarawa state Governor, Engineer,Abdullahi Sule has appropriated a total budget for 2021 fiscal year of #112.92 he presented to the state house of assembly seeking their approval.

Engineer Sule’ on Tuesday,disclosed that the 2020 budget despite the outbreak of the world global coronavirus pandemic was prudently used for the targeted detour programmes and projects,which were meanly undergoing constructions,his administration inherited and those initiated by his government.

He tagged the 2021 budget,as the budget of economic recuperation,with the promised that the over #112.92 billion will be wholesomely and judiciously made active in boosting projects that will add value to the state.

According to him, consideration in the 2021 iscal year budget will be prioritise on provisions of general security,completion of all ongoing projects created by his administration,encouraging and supporting agricultural production.

” As a way of empowerment,boosting production,developing value chain and strenghtens commercial ventures for stable economy.

He also added that” Creating conducive environment for the participation of informal sector in income generation and sustainable productivity is key in the execution of the budget” Gov Sule said.

The governor pointed out that the budget will also attract investors.to the state in order to boost employment opportunities for the teeming youths .

He reiterated that the commitment to workers welfare ,through implementation of outstanding promotions and minimum wage ,as well as human capital development remains a priority in the budget.

He noted that” Government will not relient in it oars to strenghtens internal control mechanism in public financial management.

“Accordingly, government has reviewed the monthly overhead cost and will ensured strict monitoring of the activities of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in line with fiscal expenditure framework of this administration” He posited.

Governor, Sule’ however averred that the parameters and basic assumption of the 2021 budget was predicated in the basic Macro-Economic assumptions on National outlook and the inclusion of an average internally generated revenue of #1.33billion,recovery of FG personnel’s PAYE of #8.5billion,discovery of additional FG MDAs that is not in the Tax net , yielding #2.5billion.

Others he said are the recoveries of Taxes from Banks and other entities,put at #0.9billion and the expected Grants from UBEC,SFTA,Save one million Lives, Ecological funds and TETfund,totalling #16.2billion.

” And borrowing (Deficit Financing)from domestic loans ,CARES,NEW MAP and ANRN,which is over #14.4billion”He revealed.

Governor Sule reiterated that the fluctuations in the statutory revenue allocation from the Federation Account to a large extent influenced the drawing up of the 2021 budget,which is in view of the fact that it remains the major source of revenue that accrued to Nasarawa State.
