ZLP Candidate weeps as woman collapses in Anambra

The candidate of the Zenith Labour Party for the November 6 gubernatorial poll in Anambra State, Dr. Obiora Okonkwo PhD burst into tears when he went to flag off road construction in Okpoko, Ogbaru in Anambra State.

He  could not restrain himself when a woman, Mrs Amara Nwachukwu who hawks satchet water suddenly collapsed in his presence at Ndida Well Market, near Onisha Anambra State.

Amara Nwachukwu, a nursing mother, was rushing to buy a bag of sachet water when she collapsed as a result of hunger and narrated to  Dr. Okonkwo and his running mate, Dame Jessie Balonwu that her last meal was a soaked garri which she  took the morning of the day.

Dr. Obiora Okonkwo sobbing before Rev. Fr. Theophilus Odukwe, the parish priest of St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Church Okpoko.

According to her, ” I was  rushing to see if I could sale a satchet water to enable me buy some food for myself and my  baby.” Just as she was speaking, she suddenly collapsed into near dirty muddy along St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Church Okpoko. 

Dr. Okonkwo who was deeply touched by the woman’s situation ensured that she was revived and  ordered for quick meal and immediately directed to take her to St. Charles Boromeo Specialist Hospital Onitsha  for her comprehensive health check.

The governorship candidate also ordered that the medical bill be forwarded to him after her treatment as he dolled out #200,000 cash to enable Mrs Nwachukwu to start up a trade after her recovery.

Meanwhile, Dr. Okonkwo’s  benevolent act threw Okpoko Community into Jubilation as Ndida Well Market women who witnessed the incident rained prayers to him, praying God to bless him as well as grant him victory for the fortcoming gubernitorial election.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the road construction Flag off, Okonkwo who doubles as the Chief Exective Officer ( CEO) United Nigeria Airlines and Zenith Labour Party Flag bearer condemned the idea of anyone to go hungry especially in the Anambra State.

He assured that the situations of people in the state would change positively if  Zenith Labour Party emerge victorious after the November 6 election in the state.

” My mind bleeds because so many people are suffering and this are the of  kind of things that drive me to become the Governor of this State so that I could alleviate the living conditions of poor and indigents.” 

He continued: “what I have done in Okpoko is not about politics but what concerns common good for the humanity. It is a continuation of what we have been doing and we will continue to do it whether election or no election” Dr. Okonkwo declared.
