Zamfara proposes N861bn 2026 budget

Governor Dauda Lawal has presented a N861bn budget for 2026 to the state Assembly, with N715bn (83%) for capital expenditure and N147.2bn (17%) for recurrent costs.

Health and agriculture lead allocations at N87bn each, followed by education (N65bn), public safety (N45bn), environment (N22bn), and social protection (N17bn).

Lawal described it as a “Stability and Growth” budget aimed at strengthening security, modernizing agriculture, improving healthcare, expanding education, and promoting inclusive development.
