Zacch Adedeji’s Bold Revenue Target for 2025

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) under Dr. Zacch Adedeji has set an ambitious N25.2 trillion revenue target for 2025, following its record-breaking N21.6 trillion revenue collection in 2024—exceeding the initial N19.4 trillion goal. Adedeji attributes this success to administrative and policy reforms, including automation, TaxPro-Max, third-party data usage, and improved debt collection. He emphasized that capacity building, infrastructure enhancement, and technology will be key to achieving the 2025 target. To improve tax compliance, FIRS introduced a *USSD code (829#) for seamless taxpayer engagement, allowing TIN retrieval, Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) verification, and inquiries without internet access. Commended by the National Assembly and financial stakeholders, FIRS’ achievements align with President Tinubu’s economic vision, focusing on taxing prosperity rather than poverty. With planned tax law reforms and a conducive business environment, Adedeji remains confident in surpassing the 2025 revenue target.
