Yuletide: Christmas, the message of Hope – Bishop Nwokolo

The Most Right Reverend Owen Nwokolo the Bishop of the Niger has joined his contemporaries in the country to speak on the significance of Christmas and what it portends in the salvation of mankind.

In a message in Onitsha, the Bishop on the Niger declared that the birth of Jesus Christ was the epicentre of God’s favour to humanity.

“Jesus Christ cares for all people of the world irrespective of one’s tribe, religion or ethnic affiliations.

“Christmas is the good news of love to mankind, especially to a world where individuals and government no longer care, the love of God in the manifestation of Jesus Christ shows unending care to humanity, he noted.

Bishop Owen stated that the season of Christmas compels Christians to love one another by engaging in things that would transform humanity for good.

He called on Christians not to be crestfallen this period about the current happenings in society, saying that the birth of Jesus Christ would solve all problems and bad situations for mankind.

He, however, implored Christians to submit themselves in humility and sacrifice to Jesus to partake in the message of hope brought by Christ.

Further, in his season’s message, he prophesied that 2023 is the year of the Lord and that things will turn around in Nigeria for good.

“We expect a lot in 2023, we expect changes in almost every aspect of the affairs of our country; in our economy, education and it’s an election year so the year is already full.

But the owner of the year has assured us that he will accompany us throughout. This year will be in the company of Lord Jesus Christ as the Chief Pilot,” he reiterated.

While fielding questions on sundry issues by Journalists, he noted that the new administration is barely a year and Ndi Anambra should give the new governor more time on security.

“From what we are seeing, it seems he is on the right path. It’s not easy to govern the Anambra state but as the professional that Soludo is, he knows and loves good things. With time I believe every issue concerning insecurity will be put to rest.

“We are praying for him, there are so many forces both positive and negative and It’s up to him to know what to do with them,” he stated.
