Youths and parents have been urged to shun inordinate quest for easy money but embrace good parenting which includes raising children in the fear of God and inculcating good values like hard work and dignity of labour.

The call was made recently during the Anglican CommunionTrinity priestly ordination, collation, installation and preferment of 3 Archdeacons, 3 Rev. Canons and 9 priests which were held at All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha, by the Bishop on the Niger, Rt. Rev. Dr Owen Nwokolo.

Some of the Preferred clergymen who spoke to our newsmen expressing their gratitude to God and the Lord Bishop include Venerable Iyke Egbuonu of Diocese on the Niger, Rev Canon Cornelius Eze-Assitant Chaplain Chapel of Restoration, Nigerian Correctional Center, Onitsha, Rev.Canon Dr Cajetan Anuforo-Principal of Progressive Secondary School, Umunya, Rev. Samuel Ifeanyichukwu Nneji of St. Peter’s parish, Oba, Rev Tochukwu Frank Nweke of Immanuel Anglican Church, Inlandtown Onitsha, Rev. Engr. According to Venerable Egbuonu, “There is dignity in labour. Youths should learn from history. Youths engaged in Fraud/419, Yahoo, Yahoo plus or ill-gotten money will eventually fall. I read about the nine richest men in America during the 19th century who was once richer than America but later some of them ended up bankrupt, some in prison. People should stop pursuing paper in the name of money. Money is a spiritual substance expressed in mental value and printed on paper for the exchange of goods and services. Youths should think of wealth creation, embrace agriculture with its value chains”.

The trio of Rev Canon Anuforo, Rev Nwankwo and Rev. Engr. Madu in their separate speeches advised youths to fear God, chose the right way and follow due process in their pursuit of wealth.

A woman leader from St Peter’s Anglican parish, Oba, Mrs Ngozi Onwuka, the 92′ Set Modebe Secondary School, Onitsha Old boys led by Mr Mmadubuike Chuks all wished Rev Nneji more upliftment in ministry and spiritual empowerment.

A parent, Evangelist Nchedo Mmadu advised parents to start training their children with good values right from childhood.” While driving them to school, teach them good morals, to memorize the word of God, study their character and help them chart good courses for their lives”.
