Youths lead in week six of the INEC online pre-registration table

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declares as the online pre-registration of voters embarked its seventh week, the number of online new registrants is now one million, six hundred and nine thousand, nine hundred and eighty-one while one hundred and ninety-five thousand, five hundred and ninety-one dwellers have obtained their manual registration.

The distribution of the registrants by State showed that Osun State had three hundred and nineteen thousand, five hundred and twenty registrants to lead the online pre-registration followed by Edo State with one hundred and fifty five thousand, two hundred and seventy six registrants.

Anambra State which is fourth on the list of distribution by states had ninety seven thousand, eight hundred and ninety registrants to lead the South East states followed by Imo state which recorded twenty four thousand, six hundred and fifty registrations.

Youths with one million, two hundred and eighty nine thousand, and fifty are leading the distribution by age list while males are leading by gender, with a total of one million one hundred and nineteen thousand, six hundred and seventy five registrants.

On the occupation list, students are leading with six hundred and thirty nine thousand, three hundred and forty eight registrants.

According to a statement signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, Barrister Festus Okoye, all types of registration has been uploaded on the Commission’s website and appealed to eligible citizens to utilise the opportunity of both the online and in-person processes to register as voters.
