Women leaders, others laud Idemili South Chairman for training/empowering 150 women

The Communities Women leaders(CWL) from the seven towns that make up Idemili South Local Government Area(ISLGA), Anambra State have commended the Transition Chairman, Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Idemili) for training 150 women in various Skills/Crafts and empowering them with start-up kits/machines worth millions of naira.
Hon Mrs Amaka Obi who marked her 100 days in office during the graduation ceremony held at the Secretariat, Ojoto in the presence of Idemili south stakeholders said that Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State was tackling unemployment by engaging the unemployed in Skill acquisition programs.
The Alor CWL, Lady Grace Nwoye eulogized the ISLGA Chairman describing her as an Amazon who has proper home training.”I do not know the adequate adjective to qualify or quantify Iyom Idemili.
Training these women for a whole month was not easy. Anyone among the graduands who desire to become someone in life now has a stepping stone”.
According to CWL Awkaetiti, Mrs Dorathy Agbanyim,” Mrs Amaka Obi is worthy of emulation. Some of her colleagues heading other LGAs are still warming up to know where to begin but she has already established 150 women with choice handwork that can feed them for life.

“Amaka Obi is great. This is the first of its kind in the history of ISLGA within the shortest time in office. Women learnt different kinds of crafts under professionals, and those successful were given certificates and start-up kits to commence immediately,” said Mrs Anthonia Okonkwo, CWL Ojoto.
Also, CWL Nnokwa, Mrs Oby Orazulume said: “Mrs Obi’s administration is unique. Women from each community in ISLGA participated in the training. Let them become industrious to enable them to support their husbands financially because wives are no longer regarded as ‘Oriaku’ but ‘Odoziaku’ and ‘Osodieme'(helpmates).”

In her words, CWL Oba, Mrs Ngozi Onwuka said: This empowerment by Mrs Amaka Obi has lifted these women out of poverty. As self-employed, they will no longer be dependent on people to cater for their little needs but can support their families financially with dignity.
The CWL Nnobi, Lady Grace Ugoigwe described the TC Chairman as woman of substance, a visionary leader and some who knows where she is going and how to get there wishing her to become the next female Governor of Anambra State.

In her remarks, the ISLGA Leader of all the Community Women leaders, Mrs Juliana Obi thanked God for giving them Amaka Obi as the TC Chairman, a woman who understands that women need empowerment to be more productive praying God to give her more geace.
“To her whom much is given, much is expected. These women should make us proud just as Iyom Idemili is making us proud. They should as well make her proud so that her effort towards training and equippimg them will not be in vain,” Mrs Juliana Obi said.
Moreover, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for House of Representatives, Idemili North and South Federal Conrtstituency, Hon. Ikenna Iyiegbu (Onyechimelu’eze), stated that human capital development is his topmost priority.
Iyiegbu who supported the skill acquisition graduates with start-up equipments commended ISLGA Chairman for the wonderful opportunity given to Idemili South women to be able to make a living from any of the handworks learnt.
Commissionerfor Youths and Sports, Hon. Patrick Aghamba, APGA) candidate for House of Assembly, Idemili South, Barrister Ebuka Igwe, also applauded Hon. Amaka Obi (Iyom Idemili) and pleaded umu Idemili to continue supporting APGA for more development and empowerment.
Managing Director/Statistician General, Anambra State Bureau of Statistics Hon. Obiora Obiabunmo, Head, Local Government Administration, Mrs Patricia Nkemdilim, APGA Idemili South Stakeholders, Presidents General and others were present during the graduation/empowerment and 100 days in office celebration.
