“Where Is the Improvement?” — Obi Questions Tinubu’s Massive Borrowing
Peter Obi has strongly criticized the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing a tremendous rise in Nigeria’s public debt within a short period.
Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, Obi claimed that the current administration has borrowed more than the combined borrowings of past presidents, including Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Goodluck Jonathan, and Muhammadu Buhari.
He further stated that Nigeria’s debt profile has surged from about ₦13 trillion to over ₦200 trillion within roughly three years of Tinubu administration, without significant evidence of improvement in the country’s economy or infrastructure.
