Wayne Rooney is a very proud father today after his son Kai followed in his father’s footsteps by signing for Manchester United.

Rooney broke the news by posting a photo on his Instagram account of him and his wife Colleen posing alongside their son as he signs his first contract for the club.

“Proud day. Kai signing for Manchester United,” posted Rooney.

“Keep up the hard work son.”

His mother also took to social media and was delighted for her son.

“Special night. Congratulations, Kai,” Colleen Rooney wrote.

“I love you and I am so proud of you. Keep trying your best.”

Kai is the oldest of their couple’s four children, and he will certainly be looking to emulate his father’s career with the Red Devils.
