Valentine Ozigbo Joins Eze Ojoto To Flag-off Road Projects In Ojoto

Valentine Ozigbo, the leading aspirant in 2021 Anambra State governorship election, was the Special Guest of Honour on Saturday, February 27, 2021, as five road projects were flagged off and commissioned in Ojoto ancient kingdom in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The road projects were flagged off by the traditional ruler of Ojoto, His Royal Highness Igwe Gerald Mbamalu, Eze Oranyelu I (Eze Ojoto).

The road projects which were flagged off are Barrister Ernest Ositadinma Obunadike Road, Jamike Okigbo Road and Engr Goddy Chidozie Road. Others are the Chike Chidozie (Owulu) Road which was commissioned and the Afro-Umunafor-Ekeojor Road which is to be constructed by the Progressive Union of Ojoto (PUO).

Addressing the large crowd that came to witness the event, Mr Ozigbo congratulated the people of Ojoto on the landmark projects.

According to him, “These kind of development is what progressive communities are known for.

“I am immensely impressed with the people of Ojoto who have gone ahead to seek ways to improve the lot of their people,” Ozigbo said.

“In my quest for a better Anambra, I will be engaging and partnering progressive communities like Ojoto who have taken the initiative to execute such groundbreaking projects without waiting for government.

“It is my prayer that this would be the first among many projects that I would be commissioning in Ojoto,” the respected business mogul added.

Before the event, Mr Ozigbo and his entourage had visited the palace of Igwe Mbamalu, where he was warmly received.

Speaking to journalists after the event, Ozigbo expressed how impressed he was with the people of Ojoto.

“This is not the first time I am seeing private individuals take on such public projects, but what I have seen in Ojoto is exceptional.

“This is the first time I have witnessed this number of public facilities being developed at the same time with this level of efficiency.

”The community spirit among the Ojoto people is exceptional. They should be emulated,” the prominent philanthropist remarked excitedly.

Ozigbo, the immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp, went ahead to thank Barrister Ernest Ositadinma Obunadike, Chief Jamike Okigbo Road, Engr Goddy Chidozie, Chief Chike Chidozie, Chief Kennedy Okonkwo and the Progressive Union of Ojoto for their efforts.

Ozigbo was accompanied by several members of his campaign organization including Rt. Hon. Eucharia Azodo, a former Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly and a two-time member of the Federal House of Representatives; Sir Tim Egboka, a former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly; Chief Ikechukwu Akaeze, a former Chairman of the PDP in Dunukofia Local Government Area.

Others are Chief Jude Ochili (Ikemba Ojoto), Dr. Marcel Mbamalu, Sir Izuchukwu Oraelosi, the General Manager of the Valentine Chineto Ozigbo Foundation; Chief Uche Maduekwe, VCO Frontliner in Idemili South, Mrs Cordelia Ibah, VCO Woman Frontliner in Idemili South, Comrade Innocent Ugwo, the leaders of the VCO Youth Movement, and several others.
