US Limits Nigerian Visas to Three Months, Single Entry

The US has reduced most non-immigrant visas for Nigerians to single-entry, valid for three months, effective July 8. Visas issued before this date remain valid.
The US Embassy in Abuja said the change is part of a global visa reciprocity process to align with international security standards. It added that Washington is working with Nigerian authorities to meet criteria such as secure travel documents, visa overstay control, and information sharing.
Despite the restrictions, the embassy reaffirmed its commitment to strong US-Nigeria relations.
