Urum Community agog as Christ Anglican Church fetes over 1000, holds Carol of Nine lessons

Urum Community, Awka North local government area, Anambra state was agog over the weekend as over One thousand people (1,000) mostly less privileged, orphans and Vulnerable people, Widows and widowers went home with resonable quantities of meat ,bag containing Rice and other condiments to enable them celebrate Christmas better.
Vicar , Christ’s Anglican Church,Urum , Reverend Canon Reuben Okafor who supervised the distribution said Anglican Church cares for it’s members hence they thought of sharing what they have with others.
Canon Okafor insisted that borrowing something to God remains the only way to be blessed.
He made this known during his sermon to mark this year’s Christmas Carol and festival of nine lessons with the topic “GOD WILL REMEMBER ME”
The Church service to herald the event attracted men, women, young ,old ,members from the community even non members of Anglican communion.
Reverend Canon Okafor, who took his Bible reading from the book of Luke chapter 1:45 to 55 said that” In every blessings of God there is condition learn how to give especially to someone you are better off.
God gave us Jesus Christ to come and die for our sins that is giving.

As we are celebrating today some people are in the hospital but today you are here to get spiritual and physical food.Provoke God by giving out for him to remember you.
‘I don’t know your challenges but God will change your name .Any body that worships here will not go hungry because we are serving a sufficient God.
‘You may not know when you borrow something to God ,that’s the reason in this two years we have seen the physical ,spiritual and otherwise .The new converts from traditional religion to Christianity let alone the church building were our benefits this year .
Rev Canon Okafor further commended some women whom he said advised their sons to support the work of God “if you give, God will give you. because your miracle is on the way.
‘For two years now, we have not done any launching or fund raising for the Church building but the building is rising to the Glory of God.
However , he warned the hepocrites among them that give to shrine (ORI) cow and other things to desist from idol practice or suffer the wrath of God.
Those that take cases to the shrine called ‘ORI shrine’ in Urum were warned also to change or contend with the wrath of God for their hypocrisy.
One of the new converts from Traditional religion to Christianity (Mrs Agbomma Mgbebuike ) was not left out from receiving her Rice, meats and other condiments .
She was also the only person that received a piece of cloth.
Some of the beneficiaries, Ifechukwu Ogochukwu, from Ifite Ogwari , Ayamelum but married to Ifite Ora ,Urum and Madam Ngozi Ibegbu appreciated the Vicar , Christ’s Anglican Church Urum and prayed that God will never make Reverend Canon Reuben Okafor and his team to lack for remembering the less privileged, widows and widowers as well as orphans and vulnerable children in the community without discrimination.
One of the things that added color to this year’s Carol and festival of nine lessons was an eleven years organist Master Uzochukwu Okafor who ruled his world with his God given talent on the organ.
Mabel Okafor, Mr Anowai family, Oduko family, President General Urum Development Union and his executives, Helen Nwafor, Edith ikegbulam, Ikechukwu Igwebuike ,Chibuzo Ekwoanya among others were among the families that supported the donation for the show of love to the less privileged and others during the event.
