Update: Enugu Records 115 COVID-19 Cases Within 2 Days

Enugu state government has announced that the state had recorded 115 COVID-19 cases within 2 days bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 675.
This was disclosed by Dr. Obi Emmanuel Ikechukwu, Enugu State Commissioner for Health in a statement made available to Journalists on Sunday
He gave the latest Update from the State Ministry of Health as “New laboratory-confirmed COVID 19 cases on 17th July is 35 cases while 18th July has 80 cases noting that this brings total cases recorded within 2 days to 115 cases.
According to him, total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state is 675 while Number on treatment is 298.
“Number of COVID-19 cases discharged is 360 while number of confirmed death is 17”, he added
The Commisioner revealed that the State Government has also rolled out an assessment platform for the public to self-assess themselves individually for coronavirus.
He said “The new application, known as, “Enugu State COVID-19 Assessment Platform,” is not diagnostic; rather it is meant to determine your risk of exposure to the disease.
“For individuals who do not have access to the Internet or a smartphone, there is a telephone line and a USSD code which can be used.
The telephone line also has options for English, Pidgin and Igbo Languages.

Responses are monitored on a dashboard at the State Ministry of Health and will be promptly followed up by the State Emergency Operation Centre.
“We are urging the public to take advantage of the assessment platform, as the Governor Rt Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is putting measures in place to contain the disease.
He said the service is powered by Enugu State Government and e’Clat, an Interswitch Health Tech company.
