UNIZIK FM CHAPEL CARETAKER COMMITTEE INAUGURATED

…. Duru Emerges as Chairman

The State Working Committee (SWC) of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council led by Comrade Francis Ekpone, this afternoon inaugurated the Caretaker Committee of UNIZIK FM Chapel of the NUJ with a call on them to leverage on the avalanche of manpower at their disposal.

Comrade (Dr) Henry Chigozie Duru of the Department of Mass Communication emerged as the Chairman. Others included Comr. Nkem Uchendu – Vice-Chairperson;  Comr. Amaka Moneke – Secretary; Amaka Madu – Treasurer; Comr. Imelda Ebeze – Asst. Secretary and Comr. Chioma Nwokedi as Financial Secretary. Inaugurating the Committee, the Acting Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Francis Ekpone described UNIZIK FM Chapel as strategic, even as he charged them to be alive to their responsibility, assuring that the Council would be more than ready to render assistance and direction at every point in time.

Some of the members who spoke during the inauguration included the Head of Department of Mass Communication, UNIZIK, Professor Chinwe Uzochukwu, the Station Manager, Comrade (Mrs) Iphy Obi, the immediate past Chairman of UNIZIK FM, Comrade Chigozie Chukwuleta, Dr Julius Nwosu and Dr Nelson Obinna Omenugha of the Department of Mass Communication.

The SWC members who accompanied the Chairman to the inaugural visit are as follows: Comrade (Sir) Mmaduabuchi Onwumelu (Former Chairman, Fides Media Chapel, duly elected Treasurer, NUJ, Anambra State Council and the Chairmanship aspirant for the State Delegates Conference); Comrade Ogemdi Ozoemenam, Fin. Sec., NUJ Anambra State Council and the treasurership aspirant for the next election and the Chairman, SWAN, Anambra State, Comrade Tony Oji.
