The New Director, Center for Disability and Special Needs Research, CENDASNER, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka Obinna Anachuna, PhD has proposed construction of a special bungalow hostel with 15 rooms for males and 10 rooms for females at the university.

According to a statement by the Director made available to www.odogwublog.com there are plans also to convert lecture notes and materials into accessible formats like PDF and voice recordings especially making GST textbooks available in these forms.
The statement read in part:
“We held an extensive and interactive meeting with our students with disabilities and special needs, and it was a very enlightening experience. We discussed several pressing issues affecting their academic lives, and one of the top concerns was the urgent need for a special hostel within our campuses. Currently, 95% of these students are living off-campus, which poses significant challenges for them, particularly when attending lectures.
