University of Maiduguri gets new Vice Chancellor

Professor Aliyu Shugaba has emerged as the new Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID).
Shugaba was before his appointment, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Admin).
He will take over from Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi whose tenure expires on June 3, 2019.
In a chat with newsmen on Friday, Pro-chancellor and Chairman of the Council, Professor Biodun Adesanya, said Professor Shugaba emerged after scoring 83.8 per cent, the highest of 14 candidates interviewed.
The Pro-Chancellor said Shugaba’s appointment as the new VC was in accordance with Sub-Section 3 (c) of the universities (miscellaneous provisions) (Amendment) Act 2012.
