As Attack Survivor Speaks From Hospital Bed, Accuses Fulani Cattle Dealers

Two persons have been reported dead following attack by suspected Fulani cattle dealers at Obinetiti Dusogu Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The victims are Mr Anayo Nwosa from Igbuala village Ifitedunu, and 35 year-old Chinonso Okpatu from Ire village Abba.

Narrating the incident, a survivor of the attack, Mr Obinwanne Okonkwo, who said he is a Keke rider, explained that around 8pm on Tuesday night, his townsman, Nwosa, who he said was also into livestock business, contracted him and he followed him to a Fulani cattle dealer’s settlement at Obinetiti Awkuzu, and while they were yet to see the goats they came to buy, their business partners started attacking them with knife.

Mr Nwoye, who is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Ifitedunu, thanked God for sparing his life, alleging that there was intent to dispossess them of their money and other belongings.

Anambra State Police Police Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, is yet to issue statement on the development after several attempts by our Correspondent.
