UN urges Nigeria to act against mass kidnappings
The United Nations has condemned the surge in kidnappings across Niger, Kebbi, Kwara, and Borno, where at least 402 people, mostly schoolchildren, have been abducted since November 17. Only 88 have been freed or escaped.
UN spokesperson Thameen Al-Kheetan called on Nigerian authorities to take all lawful measures to halt attacks, ensure the safe return of captives, and prosecute those responsible.
