Umuchu Agog As Dignitaries Storm Vigil Mass for APGA National Chairman’s Late Father, Late Ezeokenwa

It was a beehive of activities at the solemn service of songs held in honour of Late Chief Hon Sir Sylvester Anyarue Chukwuma Ezeokenwa, aged 71, father of National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa.
The vigil mass took place at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Parish, Amanasaa Umuchu, in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
In his homily, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, emphasized the importance of living a virtuous life. He reminded the congregation that people are remembered for the good they did while alive, urging the living to learn from the dead by doing good.
The Anambra State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Humphrey Nwafor, who led a delegation of labour leaders to the event, noted that giving the dead a befitting burial is the ultimate honour the living can offer.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, PhD, who was accompanied by some Journalists said he was not surprised by the large turnout of dignitaries at the vigil, describing Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa as a national figure and a friend to all.

The ceremony drew a cross-section of prominent personalities from the Clergy, politics, labour and media, reflecting the widespread respect for the Ezeokenwa family.
Others who attended the vigil include Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the Deputy Governor Ugochukwu Obiefuna, Mayor Aguata LGA Chibueze Ofobuike, Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters AVM Ben Chiobi, Hon. Paschal Agbodike, Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Development Dr. Nelson Omenugna, some APGA local government party chairmen , priests among others.
