Umuawulu Ambassadors Inaugurated In Awka South LGA

Umuawulu Ambassadors Association has been inaugurated. The inaugural ceremony which took place at Saint Mark’s Anglican Church compound, Umuawulu, in Awka South Local Government Area, attracted pioneer members of the association, traditional ruler of Umuawulu Igwe Joel Egwuonwu and friends of the association.

Queen Anigbogu reports that Umuawulu Ambassadors Association is a gathering of men of likeminds of Umuawulu origin focused on positively impacting on their community in all areas focusing on the progress, security, advancement, unity and peace of their community.


In his address, the Chairman of the Association, Evangelist Chukwudozie Okpala, disclosed that it has been the desire of progressive members of the community to see a forum of this nature bring men of integrity, honesty and excellence together for a common purpose.

He explained that the aim of the group include facilitating even development in Umuawulu and to be an arm of support to their traditional ruler and his council towards his vision for the community, among other things.

Earlier in a sermon, a guest preacher, Dr Peter Ndeche, told members of the association to remain humble knowing that whatever they have come from God.

In his remarks, the traditional ruler of the town, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, while thanking God for the group described the event as a new Dawn in the town and commended Governor Willie Obiano for his achievements.


For the Secretary-General of the group, Chief Ifeanyi Ekemezie, the Association is a gathering of what he called the energy of Umuawulu with patriotic mindset aimed at developing the community in all areas.

Others who spoke with newsmen include former Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Chief Harford Oseke, Mrs Chinyere Okpala, Chief Christopher Ndubisi, Mrs. Uju Ndubisi, Chief Azubike Ekweozor and Chairman Umuawulu Vigilante Service, Chief Ugochukwu Okpala.

Induction of the traditional ruler of Umuawulu as the Grand Patron of the group, presentation of three Toyota Sienna vehicles to the Umuawulu Vigilante Service and inauguration of pioneer members of the association, featured during the ceremony.
