Some weeks ago, I read a statement credited to the former PG of Akwa-Ukwu, Chief Mike Anierobi, to the effect that Senator Uche Ekwunife is causing trouble in Anambra State.

I did not bother to confirm the former PG’s statement. I decided to call him on phone and I asked him what trouble Senator Uche Ekwunife is causing in Anambra State as he was said to have said.

He said that he has recently been to most of the communities in Anambra Central and saw what Senator Uche Ekwunife is doing in all these communities.

I still failed to get the point he was making precisely, the trouble Uche Ekwunife was causing in those communities, as I pressed him further to explain.

“You will understand afterwards”, was all he replied and quit the call.

It was later I came to understand what the PG meant. Which was that virtually all the communities in Anambra central bear testimonies of Senator Uche Ekwunife’s handwork.

Last month’s Senator Uche Ekwunife’s stakeholders meeting at Awka once again confirmed her as the undisputed Anambra State champion of political representation in terms of her unquantifiable and unrivalled record of achievements as Senator representing Anambra Central.

One thing about Senator Uche Ekwunife is that each time she holds a stakeholders meeting, she makes sure she invites all traditional rulers, PG’s and stakeholders in Anambra Central and communities.

She once told somebody that the reason she always does this is so that everything she says she did in any community can be denied publicly by the traditional ruler and PG of that community if they are false. Which has never happened.

On the contrary, each time Uche Ekwunife holds a town hall meeting, all the community representatives rise in a standing ovation after the other to confirm that Uche Ekwunife did what she said she did in their respective communities.

This is what the former PG actually meant by saying that Uche Ekwunife keeps causing trouble. He actually meant that the woman keeps causing sensation after sensation by her humongous performance in and outside her senatorial zone.

Chief Ben Ndi Obi, who was the chairman of the last but one stakeholders meeting held by Senator Uche Ekwunife,is one man I highly respect and one man that has great respect in all parts of Nigeria.

A man known for his humble disposition at all times who never fights anybody or with anybody.
A man who does not talk much but thinks much.
A man who always supports every good policy of every good leadrship in Anambra State and the nation at large at Federal, state, local government and legislative levels.
A man who never hesitates and is never afraid to speak out whenever he sees anything going bad anywhere in leadership or governance.
This pure gentleman called Ojeligbo was said to have said that if Senator Uche Ekwunife’s giant strides of performance over the years as a member of House of Reps and now as Senator means causing trouble , then he is in support of Uche Ekwunife causing more trouble in Anambra.

He further said that if honesty, hard work and commitment to service for the people means causing trouble, he will be happy if all politicians in Anambra State and Nigeria follow Uche Ekwunife’s example of causing trouble.

Who will not say the same thing? Nobody. Not after the extensive list of verifiable projects, especially roads built by Senator Uche Ekwunife across most communities and local government areas in her senatorial zone and even in other zones.
This is the reason many people call her Mrs. Project.

Besides projects per se, Senator Uche Ekwunife’s records in the area of youth empowerment and employment are visibly overwhelming and all-encompassing, far beyond all previous records, with tremendous impact on the lives of all classes of people. This has severally been attested by Anambra Central youth leaders.

Not long ago, Senator Uche Ekwunife gave a preview of her phase plan of action, which is mainly targeted at road and bridge construction in Awka North as well as road projects Njikoka and Dunukofia.

This is why it behooves the people of Anambra Central to tow the path of political wisdom and expedience by way of consolidating the gains and benefits of Senator Uche Ekwunife’s representation by giving her unanimous support and approval of tenure completion.

The case for Senator Uche Ekwunife is further reinforced by the gender factor, which has become a major and popular factor in Nigerian political and social leadership equation. As the first-ever female Senator from Anambra Central, Senator Uche Ekwunife deserves the benefit of returning to the red chambers to consolidate and maximize her excellent performance credentials.

We also know Senator Uche Ekwunife as a highly patriotic, non-controversial and government-friendly politician who maintains a harmonious and cooperative relationship with every administration without much ado about party affiliation or religious denomination. This can be seen in her constant call on the people of Anambra State to give their full support to Mr Governor Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo irrespective of political inclinations. That is the kind of politicians we need in Anambra State.

Very importantly, with her many years experience in the Senate which saw her as one of the Senators and the female Senator with the highest bills and motions, Senator Uche Ekwunife has built up a solid ranking which places her in a far more vantage position to attract more socio-economic projects and programmes to Anambra Central and the State than a new comer. Simple logic.

Last month’s stakeholders meeting was a replica of the previous stakeholders meeting which was also attended by a capacity crowd of traditional rulers, PGs and several eminent personalities from Anambra Central and beyond.

The highlight of the event was the release of an 80-page document featuring her record of achievements in the last three years in the Senate, the first of such account of stewardship in the history of Anambra Central and Anambra State, making her claims verifiable by everybody.
