Ubah emerges NBA Onitsha branch Chairman

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Onitsha branch popularly known as Premier Bar, over the weekend, held election to elect new Executives that will pilot the affairs of the bar for the next twenty-four months.
The election held at Bar Secretariat premises, Onitsha with secret ballots system. It virtually drew all the practicing lawyers based in Onitsha, Anambra State
The results of the election as announced by the returning Officer, Adichie Nwagbogu Esq declared Mazi Dickson Iheanyichukwu Ubah Esq as the winner of the election with 192 votes against his opponent, Afam Obi Esq who scored 83 votes.
Nwagbogu, who doubles as the electoral committee Chairman also declared, Asiegbu Chukwuemeka Hilary Esq as the winner of Secretarial position with 189 votes to defeat, Agbo Humphrey Onyeka Esq who mustered 86 votes.
In the other results, Prince Henry Mamah Chidiabuo Esq defeated Chude Arinzechukwu Stephen with 139 votes against Stephen’s 135 to emerged the assistant Secretary, while, Umeji Izuchukwu David Ndubuisi Esq clichéd position of the publicity Secretary with 167 votes, defeating Obidiegwu Ugochukwu. A. Esq with 108 votes in the process.
Speaking to newsmen, the elected Chairman, Mazi Dickson Iheanyichukwu Ubah stated that he was overwhelmed by the election, disclosing that he has only twenty four months to lead the branch Bar Association.
He equally pledged to build standard library and ensure unification of lawyers within his tenure.
The legal luminary who revealed that he was called to Bar in the year 1986 discarded the insinuation that the quality of legal practice in the recent period has reduced, describing bar leadership as turn by turn which he said could be any persons turn any time.
In his remark, the assistant Secretary elect, Prince Henry Mama Chidiabuo Esq noted that he was highly elated for the election, positing that he is equal to the task given to him.
He rained accolades on the gentleman of the bar for their unalloyed supports and prayed God to bless them in their various endeavors. He urged them to support the in-coming administration of Mazi Dickson Ubah which he said, would carry everyone along.
