Trsnsfer: Chelsea Completes Signing Of Defender Awaited Move.

Chelsea have concluded the signing of young Netherlands defender Xavier Mbuyamba from Barcelona. His Full name is quite a mouthful; Xavier Tshimanga Kamaluba Mbuyamba.

The young defender who joined Chelsea yesterday is a former Barcelona player and he was released by Barça after only one year at the club.

There have been rumors in recent months that the 18-year-old will sign for the blues, but the signing is now official and here are some photos from his presentation at Cobham.

Mbuyamba will link up with Chelsea’s development squad and might also be making appearances in the PL2 for the blues.

Chelsea fans are thinking that his signing means that the blues first team have strengthened at the back, but Chelsea are still hoping to add top quality and experience to the first team defensive set-up.

Mbuyamba signed a three-year-deal with Chelsea and most likely will go on a few loan spells before he might be able to crack the Chelsea First team set up.

He was dubbed the “New Van Dijk” because of his height and how similar their defending style is.
