Adieu Saint Theresa
My late mother, Mrs. Theresa Ozoji nee Akudinobi was a mother any child would wish to have because of her milk of human kindness. Her philosophy and personal disposition to life was Amaduwa Goerge : that is pretend that all is well even in the most drastic and dire situations. She was a good mother and will forever be missed by her children. She gave her offsprings the kind of protection mother hen gives its children from the eagle and other predation. She was meek, quiet, easy-going, sociable but firm and thorough. She was a very beautiful woman with a beautiful heart. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen !
Your death remains a moral lesson for the living because you weren’t tenacious about the ephemeral beauties and glamour of life. You believed in love for one another. No one could put asunder to the care and affection you had for your children and you inculcated the doctrine of charity begins at home in your children. May the good Lord grant your soul eternal rest. Amen.
My late mother also extended an Olive Branch to her in-laws and extended family members. She was a peace advocate. As you join the Angels and Saints in Heaven, may the good Lord crown your efforts with glory. Amen. I will not forget an episode of how you single-handedly took me to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Ihiala in 1997 to seek financial assistance from the hospital matron you didnt know but the matron gave you N4000,00 in my presence to give to me which was how I returned back to the Polytechnic.
When I had admission issues at Nnamdi Azikiwe University in 2003, it was my mother who directed me to Dr. Bernard Akudinobi of Geology Department who assisted me greatly through series of letters to the university management and I regained my admission and graduated in 2007 with flying colours in mass communication.
Today, your son is a practising journalist and a serving political appointee of the Willie Obiano administration. Although you didn’t live long enough to enjoy the fruits of your long suffering but your children will take solace in your virtuous deeds and pray that God welcomes you in his Heavenly abode and give your gentle soul eternal repose till we meet again to part no more !!!
