Trade boom has gradually returned to Onitsha Main market Anambra state following several key reforms introduced recently on security, decongestion, administration etc by the current leadership of the market led by Chief Chijioke Okpalaugo which has made the market to be peaceful and calm.
According to an investigation conducted by a group of crack investigative journalists based in Anambra state on the market and its leadership, it was observed that this increase in volume of trade commenced as soon as the current leadership was sworn in and immediately kick started its administration of the market by embarking on swift reforms of key areas of the market. It was also discovered that the leadership reforms on security apparatus and maintenance brought a lot of innovation which boosted the market security for traders to trade safely without molestation. The report also indicated that the Chairman leadership approach of daily engagement of all stake holders and his open door policy which made all aggrieved parties in the market to put aside their grievances to work for smooth administration of the market was another key issues that made the market to be peaceful and calm which apart from promoted unity and peace among traders had also made trading to thrive in the market.
