President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday evening, pitched his tent with the Victor Giadom faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This is as the President said the law is on the side of Giadom.

2. COVID-19: FG Releases Fresh Conditions For Schools Reopening

With a vaccine for the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) yet to be found, the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government has listed fresh conditions for the reopening of schools in the country.

Odogwublog reports that the new guidelines were contained in a document submitted to the Senate by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu.

3. Court Nullifies Suit Barring Obaseki From Edo PDP Primary

The Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, has given its final verdict on the suit seeking to stop Godwin Obaseki, the Edo State Governor, from contesting the governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Odogwublog reports that the presiding judge, Justice Emmanuel Obile granted the application of moves by the parties to the suit to settle the matter outside the court and urged the judge to stand down the proceedings for four hours.

4. APC Insists Giadom’s NEC Meeting Illegal Despite Buhari’s Endorsement

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Waziri Bulama, has described the National Executive Committee (NEC) called by Victor Giadom as illegal.

Odogwublog reports that President Muhammadu Buhari had backed Giadom as the authentic Acting National Chairman of the APC while promising to attend the virtual NEC meeting scheduled for Thursday at the Presidential Villa.

5. Demolition: Nigeria Won’t Engage In Street Fight With Ghana – Presidency

President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu, has noted that the Federal Government of Nigeria would not engage in a street fight with Ghana over the demolition of the building in the premises of the Nigeria High Commission in Accra.

The President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity stated this on Wednesday during an interview with State House correspondents.

Mr Kenneth Imasuagbon, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship aspirant in Edo State has rubbished claims that he has decided to step down for Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki.

Imasuagbon, in a statement which he issued this afternoon, stressed that he plans to win, not just be a part of people who contested.

8. APC National Secretariat Might Be Burnt Down – Eta Warns

The All Progressives Congress factional Chairman, Hillard Eta has raised an alarm that some thugs are making attempt to end his life.

Eta who made this known on Wednesday via a telephone chat alleged that the National Working Committee (NWC) had got information that some thugs were sent from Port Harcourt, Rivers State to come and burn down the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Thursday attend the virtual National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
