Tinubu to Attend Sustainability Summit in UAE January 10, 2025

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to attend the 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) in the United Arab Emirates from January 12 to 18. In a statement released on Friday, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, announced that Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday, January 11, to participate in the summit at the invitation of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The statement highlighted that the summit, themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” aims to convene global leaders to accelerate sustainable development and promote socioeconomic advancement. Policymakers, business leaders, and civil society representatives will explore strategies to transition to a sustainable economy and foster global prosperity. About ADSW The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, held annually for over 15 years, serves as a global platform for collaboration on sustainability challenges. The event has facilitated numerous strategic partnerships and high-value agreements between governments, industries, and clean energy innovators worldwide, contributing significantly to the global sustainability agenda. Tinubu’s Agenda The statement noted that President Tinubu will highlight his administration’s reforms in energy efficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development during the summit. He will also engage with the UAE leadership to discuss bilateral issues of mutual interest. Tinubu will be accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar and other senior officials. He is expected to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16.
