The Edo State gubernatorial election has been very eventful, with different political drama ongoing in the state. Few days to election, It is very to glaring to all the citizens of the state that the forthcoming election is going to be extremely competitive.

Even though the gubernatorial election is between Governor Godwin Obaseki of PDP and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of APC.

Governor Godwin Obaseki has been persistent in his bid to get re-elected, as the next governor of Edo State.

He has been able to maneuver out of the tight spot and even surprise many with the way he has soldiered on as a man, in the face of multiple adversaries.

Governor Godwin Obaseki will be going to the poll on Saturday, as a candidate who has done everything humanly possible to achieve his dream of maintaining his status, as the Chief Security Officer of Edo State.

The  Edo State All Progressives Congress has within the party, several political gladiators who are battle-ready and are veterans of Edo State politics.

The APC structure in Edo State is strong and exist from ward to ward, it is a formidable force that has been built over the years and well funded.

The forthcoming election will determine a lot of things within the political arena of Edo State.

The All Progressives Congress with a formidable team and a very popular candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, who is a grassroots politician, must not underrate Governor Godwin Obaseki.

The APC must be ready for a tight election, underestimation of the incumbent governor could result to unfavourable outing, at the polls.

The following are the major reasons why APC should not underestimate Governor Godwin Obaseki.i

1. Solid political platform: Governor Godwin Obaseki emerging as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) makes him a very tough opponent for the APC, in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

PDP is not a pushover party in Edo State, with huge numbers of party supporters who are determined and loyal to the cause of the party.

APC cannot afford to underestimate any candidate presented by PDP in Edo State, judging by the result of the last senatorial election held in the state.

2. Power of Incumbency: As the incumbent governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, is the candidate to beat in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

He has been able to reach out to governors belonging to the Peoples Democratic Party, they’ve been to Edo State more than an occasion campaigning for him, ahead of the next election in the state.

With the power of Incumbency, Governor Godwin Obaseki, must not be underestimated by the APC.

3. Huge financial war chest: Politic is an expensive activity, aspiring to become a governor of a state, will surely cost a fortune.

If you are not convinced, put into consideration the amount political parties do sell their governorship form to interested politicians.

The campaign for the reelection of Governor Godwin Obaseki has been done smoothly, with about 192 wards visited.
