The Onitsha South Local Government New Fire Truck Inspected by the state Fire Service Officials

By Julie Sylvia, Onitsha

The new 5000 capacity litres fire truck procured by the Mayor of Onitsha South Local Government Area, Hon Chief Emeka Orji, (Dikediebube) was on 22 Jan, inspected by the Anambra State Fire Service Officials led by their Chairman, Engr Chiketa Chukwudi Emmanuel

According to Chiketa, I am encouraging other Mayors of other local governments to follow suit what the Mayor of Onitsha South did, at least to save the lives and properties of Ndi Anambra.

“I also advise Ndi Anambra to avoid those things that contribute to fire incidence, don’t answer calls when you are cooking with gas, especially cylinder gas, off your electrical appliances when going out of the house or when you close for the days business so that when the EEDC brings light, there will be no frustration.

Speaking, Orji reiterated that the constituency has suffered a lot of damages as a result of fire outbreak both in the markets and residential buildings, noting that it touches him whenever such happened.

According to him,”I want to build four fire service centers in Onitsha South Local Government, this one now is in Fegge, the other three would be at Odoakpu, Woliwo and Bridgehead so that it would go round to the four communities in Fegge, I think it would help a lot.

“This fire truck would also be of help to our neighbors like Onitsha North, Ogbaru LG, Idemili North/South, even Asaba, Delta State and others
