Tension In Igbo-ukwu, Child Trafficking Syndicate Arrives, As An Abakaliki Man, Responsible For Disappearance Of Young Girl Was Arrested By Igbo-ukwu Central Vigilante Group
A middle aged adult, names yet to ascertained, said to be an indigene of Ebonyi state but residing somewhere in Ngo village Igbo-ukwu town, had just been arrested over the sudden disappearance of one young girl ‘Chisom’ from Umunono Village of Obiuno, Igbo-ukwu.
Emerging details have it that Chisom suddenly disappeared sometimes in the middle of June 2026, as soon as she finished her senior West African School Examination, held in late June 2026.
Highly dependable source, revealed that the parents to the young girl had since been searching for her whereabout but with no positive result do far, after which they sent signals to security units across the town as well as publishing her most recent pictures on the social media space.
It was however, gathered that some observant individuals reportedly disclosed that the young girl was severally seen with the Ebonyi man discussing at different occasions shortly before her sudden disappearance.
Parents of Chisom was said to have quickly alerted Igbo-ukwu Central Vigilante with vital security tip off, subsequently arrest the Ebonyi man at his residence in Ngo village of the town on Friday, 4th of September, 2026.

This development has once again raised serious concerns about non-indigenes around the town as some people have expressed shock on the novelty as well as operations of the notorious child trafficking syndicate around the town, as some made mentions of some young other young girls between the age of 17 and above, who reportedly departed the town with the promises of traveling overseas for various high-juicy-paying jobs in the United kingdom, United States, among others.
Some discussants around the town hinted that most of those girls including Chisom perhaps have been trafficked to some African countries for prostition.
This writer made relentless effort through mobile contacts to reach out to Igbo-ukwu security for more information from the suspect but the commander disclosed that the man had been handed over to Igbo-ukwu police station.
Efforts were eqaully made at reaching Igbo-ukwu police station on the development as well as parents of the girl from Umunono village were abortive as at the time of filing this report.
Finally, this development has however, raised serious questions about non-indigenes applying for residence in the town.
As the search for whereabout of Chisom continues, Igbo-ukwu Development Union must not fail to get back to the drawing board, with serious security appreciation of the situation and for future safety of our people too, devise effective means of plugging lopeholes, as we as identifying these other hoodlums hibernating in the town in the name of working and doing business around the town.
Parents should also be enlightened to understand the dangers of young girls travelling outside the country with sweet tongues and mouthwatering promises of securing high-paying jobs for them as such girls finally ends up in some African countries where they were forced into prostition, contrary to what they were made to believe at home before leaving.
