By Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, Awka
The Archdeacon, CHS Awka Archdeaconry Ven.Dr Onyeka Egwuonwu has cautioned worshippers of God Almighty to stop justifying their sins, but, rather be remorseful whenever in the wrong as true children of God.
Ven.Dr Egwuonwu who is also the Vicar, Church of The Holy Spirit Awka noted that only those without the word of God in them that justify their sins.
He insisted that the word of God is life and light hence anyone who is not guided by the word of God is in darkness and cannot make progress. He added also that the word of God is food.
The Archdeacon of CHS Awka Archdeaconry reminded that it takes one’s faith for the word of God to work.
He encouraged Christians to abide in the shadow of the Almighty God always for Him to continue to deliver them, even as he added that parents, particularly fathers must have plans for their family with God,
He reminded that the problem of many in the society is taking wrong directions as when one is armed with proper direction, several societal problems would have been nipped in the bud.
He further warned against being propelled by emotions as well as being emotional rather than focus on the word of God, even as he advised that quoting the Bible isn’t same as interpreting the word of God because some men working for Satan can still quote the Bible.
He advised that human feelings can fail but the word of God never fails because the word of God is God, hence anyone without the word of God is in trouble.
According to Ven.Dr Egwuonwu, the word of God is lamp which gives light ,hence no child of God should be confused by words of men. He said baptism in the church gives a Christian authority as a member of the church. He also said the Epistle is the explanation of the gospel.
” There is power in the activeness of the word of God in your life
Activate the word of God in your life to tap into God’s wisdom and grace”, he said.
The Vicar Church of The Holy Spirit Awka queried the attitude of some against their neighbours by conclusively dismissing them based on old perception “see finish”, whereas God may have taken charge unknown to the one looking down on someone. He encouraged love and tolerance always.
Speaking on the theme: ” The Renewing Touch of God”, Ven.Dr Egwuonwu concluded that no matter one’s ranking in life and status, God is still the person’s helper.
