The National Sports Commission (NSC) has approved the reassignment of 57 Secretary-Generals and officers across various National Sports Federations, marking a strategic move to revitalize the sports sector. Olumide Bamiduro, Director of Federation of Elite Athletes at the NSC, announced the changes in a statement on Friday in Abuja, revealing that the 57 Secretary-Generals and five officers had already been redeployed. He explained that the reshuffle aligns with the vision of NSC Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director-General Bukola Olopade to rejuvenate the sector. “The mandate is clear: these changes are aimed at achieving results and positioning the sports industry to attract private and corporate investments, ultimately driving the growth of our sports economy,” Bamiduro said. The NSC has directed its Federation Establishment and Appointment Department to implement the new postings, reflecting the Commission’s dedication to improving the efficiency and performance of sports federations nationwide. “They are expected to play crucial roles in steering the sector toward innovation, grassroots and elite development, and economic growth,” he added. The reassigned federations include Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Boxing, Cricket, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Wrestling, and others.
