SPEECH BY DOZIE IKEDIFE JR. PRESENTED TO ANAMBRA STATE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS(APC) GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANTS INTERACTIVE SESSION AT THE TRANSCORP HILTON HOTEL, ABUJA ON TUESDAY, APRIL 27, 2021.
Unity Towards Victory
All Established and Duly Recognized Protocols Are Hereby Acknowledged
It is with tremendous pleasure that I welcome you to the first interactive session of APC governorship aspirants from Anambra State.
This, indeed, is the first, in a long chain of engagements, which ultimate goal is an APC-led Administration in Anambra state, come March 17, 2022.
For today’s event, however, the focus is Unity Towards Victory in the November 6, 2021 gubernatorial election.
This interface is designed to bring all our aspirants together and give them an opportunity to interact with each other and with party leaders in an atmosphere of concord and camaraderie.
Devoid of the drudgery of campaigns, it is our earnest hope that gathered, as we are, under a relaxed mood, we can begin to build the friendship required to evolve workable strategies for winning, not just the Primaries, but ultimately, the general elections.
It is our strong belief that one of these aspirants will be the Candidate of our great party in the November 6, 2021 Anambra state governorship election and will, thereafter, emerge as the next Governor of Anambra State.
For these reasons, we would like the aspirants to give their full commitment to join forces with, support and promote the aspirant that emerges as our party Candidate for the forthcoming governorship election in our dear state, Anambra.
Today’s event is organized by a group of nine party leaders from Anambra state. These men have all ran elections in the past and are ‘foot soldiers’ loyal to the cause of APC forming the next government in Anambra State.
The drive and desire of this group of party loyalists is to diligently work to elect one of our aspirants as the next Governor of our state. I would like to respectfully request your indulgence in recognizing these party leaders:
- Hon. Emeke Nwogbo
- Hon. Afam Ogene
- Barr. CJ Chinwuba
- Barr. Mike Mbanefo
- Engr. Ike Chidolue
- Chief Chidi Ogbaji
- Odu Olisa Onyeka
- Hon. Chizor Obidigwe
and myself, Dozie Ikedife Jnr.
I would like to clearly state that as non-partisan organizers of this event, we do not have a preferred aspirant.
In fact, we acknowledge and recognize the fact that some other aspirants joined the quest to emerge as our Party’s Candidate after we had set in motion the process for today’s event. We welcome their aspiration and urge them to join these noble men who kick-started the race.
However, it needs restating that our utmost desire is for the most qualified aspirant to emerge as our party’s candidate through a free, fair and credible APC primary election.
As the ruling party at the Centre, we trust that our party delegates from the 326 wards in our state will cast their ballot for the strongest, most popular, most electable aspirant because that is the surest way to gain victory as a party in the upcoming election.
Unity Towards Victory, which is our theme, simply means that our great party must unite and give us a primary election that we desire. A primary election that will assure our destiny. Our destiny is victory.
To triumph in victory, our aspirants, our party leaders, executives and stakeholders must support, strengthen and propel the aspirant that emerges as a Candidate to victory. The labour of our aspirants, the labour of leaders, the labour of our executives and the labour of our party members in the 177 communities; in the 326 wards of Anambra state will not be in vain because by the grace of the Creator of the Universe, one of these men seated here today will be the next Governor of Anambra state.
I would like to thank all of you immensely for your selflessness, commitment and dedication to this momentous endeavor.
