Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, says no going back on his resolve to sack touts and illegal revenue collectors who have made the State unbearable for those who come into the State to transact business.

The Governor made the vow weekend, during a campaign rally organised for all All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA candidates, in preparation for the coming general election, sponsored by Anambra State Amalgamated Traders’ Association, ASMATA, held at Rojenny stadium Oba. Idemili South Local Government Area.

He reiterated that there would be no going back on the war against touting, stating that touts must leave Anambra for the State to move forward as their illegal activities will no longer be tolerated.

“Touts must leave Anambra for the State to move forward. I am happy that Ocha Brigade is picking them now. There is no hiding place for them. They should leave the State or we will show them where to stay,” he stated.

In his response, the ASMATA President General, PG. Chief Humphrey Anuna, expressed satisfaction that the touts who ab initio took over the state, have now gone underground to avoid arrest by Ocha Brigade and other security operatives.

“Touting nearly grounded business activities in the State before the Governor came up to the challenge by fighting them. We are happy that presently they have disappeared from their flash points and those seen picked by Ocha Brigade.
