Soludo, Obidigwe, others storm Aguleri as Ezinne Okwuwa Machi is buried in style

Aguleri town in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State was agog, over the weekend, as late Ezinne Okwuwa Helen Machi was buried in grand style in Enugwu Aguleri of the state.

Late Ezinne Okwuwa who died at the age of eighty-three is the mother of Bro Pius Machi, a Senior Special Assistant to the governor on media, and Igwe Aluta Machi amongst other sons and daughters.

The burial attracted the ‘who is who’ in the state including the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo; Member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Honourable Chinedu Obidigwe; as well as the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Idemili North and South Federal Constituency in the 2023 general election, Hon. Ikenna Iyiegbu.

It also witnessed heavy presence of priests, friends, colleagues, and associates, who showed up to commiserate with the family members, and to celebrate the glorious passage of their late matriarch.

Briefing newsmen, Bro. Pius Machi, who doubles as the Director general of SOLUDO TV, described his late mother as a woman of peace full of love and kindness, affirming that her death, left a big vacuum no one can fill.

Speaking at Saint Michael’s Church Ivite Aguleri, during the Burial Mass, Governor Soludo encouraged Machi family to be consoled with the fact that their mother lived well on earth, noting that the best way to immortalize her is to live out her good legacies.

The member, representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe, on his part, encouraged the family to be strong and keep strong faith in God.

Condoling with Machi family, Hon. Ikenna Iyiegbu described death as inevitable and urged the family to find solace in the Lord knowing that their mother was in heaven.

In the same vein, Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Hon. Tonycollins Nwabunwanne, encouraged the family to take solace in the fact that their mother has completed her divinely assigned mission on earth, adding that the good legacies she left behind, like a baton passed on, should be held firmly until reunion in heaven.

He prayed God to grant Pius and the entire Machi family the grace and fortitude to bear the loss.

Other stakeholders and government officials present at the burial include: Commissioner For Power and Water Resources, Hon. Engr Julius Chukwuemeka; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi; Chief protocol to Mr. Governor, Mr Chinedu Nwoye; and the Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra East LGA, Dr. Anselm Onuorah, amongst many others.
