Barely four days to the long-awaited general election, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, of Anambra State, in one of his last-minute campaign rallies, held at Akpaka GRA Onitsha, begged the residents to cast all their votes for candidates of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, for the smooth running of government and provision of dividends of democracy to the people of the State.

Buttressing his point he stated that Hon. Edward Ibuzo, who is called ‘Liver to Deliver by his admirers ‘, that is contesting for Onitsha Fedearal constituency, is a selfless man who is only interested in what will benefit his constituents.

“People only think of what will benefit them but Ibuzo thinks only of what his people will benefit, not thinking of himself, and that is why I resolved to do the Akpaka-Nsugbe road that he pleaded to me that his people needed it urgently.

“So I promised him I would do the road because in APGA we fulfill our promise. My predecessor, Obiano promised me of becoming the next Governor after him and I also promised him support which I fulfilled. So in APGA it is promise and fulfill.

“So if you people vote APGA candidates especially for those contesting for State House of Assembly, what ever thing brought through them to me will not be delayed in being endorsed but if it were to be from other parties, it will not be given the attention it deserves,” he stated.

Commending the Governor on ‘one youth, two skills initiative’, programme introduced to make the youths self reliant, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Patrick Agha Mba, said that the project was yielding great positive result.

The Commissioner said that the ‘one youth, two skills initiative was aimed at raising atleast one thousand plus millionaire youths annually, stating that many youths have been trained already and are now doing very well in their areas of specialization.

He discribed Governor Soludo as an action governor, who always matches his words with action, adding that barely one year in office, the governor has brought positive changes to Anambra state.

” The ongoing construction at the bridge connecting Trans Nkisi to Inland town is a welcome development. He is really the solution governor. His human capital developmental projects is second to none. In the last three months, he has employed five thousand teachers.”

” It has never happened in the history of the country. One hundred and thirty thousand youths will become beneficiaries of this initiative. Good to note that it is a community based empowerment programme which doesn’t require the youth to travel to Awka before they can gain access to the skill acquisition programme,” he hinted.

Reacting, the APGA House of Assembly candidate, Onitsha North constituency 2, Harold Ekwerekwu, vowed to provide quality representation especially on roads, and other infrastructures.

“Traffic gridlock will be decongested as I am coming to work in partnership with Governor Soludo for better welfare to my constituents. APGA is on ground and there is no other party here in the State.

“There will be enormous improvement in my constituency as I will be ready for my people to ensure they get their dividends of democracy,” he vowed.

Earlier, the transition committee chairman of Onitsha North Local Government Area, Hon. Onochie Ozoma, described the Governor as a solution Governor who believes in action .

“Everything about him is action, talk and do Governor, talking about human capital development he employed 5000 youths, one youth two skills scheme. His provision of adequate security is overwhelming.

“This Akpaka/Nsugbe road he is working on now is a principal road that leads to kogi and Enugu States. This road leads to communities that are the food baskets of the State, it is going to be of immense help to us.

“The contracting firm working on the road is delaying despite the fact that it has been mobilized with 50 per cent of the contract sum. The Governor was annoyed with the firm for doing only 20 per cent work but to me the firm has done only 10 per cent and if according to the governor it fails to get to a reasonable per centage in near future, the contract will be withdrawn from it and money paid refunded,” he fumed
