Sickle Cell Children Return Back To School

Dressed in his new school uniform and beaming with smiles was master Chidubem Peter, a twelve years old boy and others living with sickle cell disorder who have for long dropped out of school due to financial hardships.
Right now, he can certainly join his mates back to school to acquire an excellent education that would pave his ways for better opportunities in the future.

Master Chidubem was denied the joy of childhood and earlier abandoned by his father when he discovered that Chidubem has sickle cell anemia. Ever since then, it was a tale of woes by his mother who could no longer cope with the rising cost of livelihood and other challenges in managing a sickle cell child.

Chidubem was among the first to be absorbed in the sickle cell home Agulu for an effective and proper health and educational management. Now he is grateful to all those who made his return to school possible.

The Association gladly extends her profound gratitude to an illustrious son of Agulu, Chief Emma Ibeneme who has taken it upon himself to pay the school fees and other necessities for the children to return to school.

The National Coordinator of the Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder, Mrs Aisha Edward Maduagwu is also grateful to Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo for donating a Sienna vehicle that can conveniently collect the children to and fro.

This can only be God’s grace and blessings upon the lives of persons living with sickle cell disease going through the worst forms of impoverishments and neglects. More is yet to come as our benefactors has promised us.

Other sickle cell patients who benefited from the school fees and WAEC enrollments includes Uche Obiunigwe, Amenyi Girls Awka; Christian Ibe, Community secondary school Ajalli.
