Most Sickle Cell Patient in the hospital now due to shortage of blood are all in more serious trouble of surviving the current challenging situation

Unfortunately nobody goes to the hospital now to donate blood for our people, this is because there is a higher level of poverty in the country due to the Covid 19 Lock down.

These patients who are detained due to lack of funds to pay their hospital bill can neither cook rice , boil or even fry eggs. All they were recommended by the doctors to do is to take a lot of fluids so that their cells can unsickle and the blood can easily have a Free passage devoid of painful crisis through their veins.

APLSCD had lost a member two days ago at Unizik Awka, Miss Chisom Awoke due to shortage of blood and poor nutrition. She has been buried while the Association mourns her sad demise.
