The Bishop Church of Nigeria, Diocese of Amichi, Rt. Rev. Ephraim Ikeakor has warned Anambra State governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo not to rely on feedbacks from sycophants and political jobbers in the State.

The Bishop urged the governor not to repeat the mistakes of leaders who recorded failures by their reliance on the recommendations and feedbacks from individuals whose interests and priority is to satisfy selfish desires at the expense of the state.

Delivering his Presidential Address at the Second Session of the fifth Synod at St. Peter’s Church, Amichi, Nnewi South LGA, Anambra State, last weekend, the Bishop stated, ” One of the greatest undoing of our political class is relying on sycophants and political jobbers for feedback in their leadership.

While he said his feeling was born out of Soludo’s political inheritance of security challenges and red treasury from the previous administration, he reminded the governor that the expectations of the people on his capacity, competence and experience to govern the state are still high.

The Bishop urged the governor to personalize and domesticate the public office, noting that he must ensure utmost integrity in the award of contracts and appointments in the state to win the heart of the people of the state.

“The next problem and pitfall to avoid is refusal to personalize and domesticate the public office and infrastructure. In your appointment and award of contracts, let your watchword be competence and capability.

“As you have set out to fix
roads in Anambra State, please engage competent contractors who will give weather resistant durable roads to the State.”

Speaking further, the Bishop said, “Anambra State Civil Service is at the verge of collapse. Remember that in your electioneering campaign promises, you told Anambarians that you will
make Anambra State, the Dubai of Africa. Now that you are at the helm of affairs, let justice, fairness, and equity guide you in all you do.

“Do not be discouraged or
dismayed. The God of all Grace will grant you His Grace to weather
this storm.”
