Seven men paraded for allegedly killing a man with charm

Forty-eight year old man, Mr.Emmanuel Uchendu, alongside six other suspects were, Monday, 19th. July, paraded by the youths of Igbu village, in Nkwo Awkuzu market, Oyi Local Government Area, Anambra State

The suspects were said to have killed one Mr. Udemmadu Ikeamaka, aged 78, with charm.

Among the suspects are: Mr. John Ikemesi,Mr.Chukwudi Nnadozie,Mr. Charles Obika,Mr.Peter Ibeneme,Mr.Sunday Nwoye and Mr.Albert Okafor .

The deceased was said to have hailed from the same kindred with Mr. Emmanuel Uchendu. The oldest man in the village was said to have died on June 20th out of heart attack and was buried on July 8.

Sources have it that Mr Ikeamaka was killed with charm by Mr.Emmanuel Uchendu and his gangs to enable them sell a plot of land belonging to the community. It was also gathered that the late Ikeamaka was one of those who stood on the way of the commumual-owned land being sold.

It was gathered that one Mr.Chukwudozie Ikpeama popularly called “Aka na- agwo nsi”, a native doctor from Akwa village in Ifitedunu, Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State allegedly prepared the charm the suspects used in eliminating the victim

According to Mr.Christian, the native doctor whose mother and his mother are from the same village contacted him around 1pm on Saturday 17th July, that seven of his kinsmen by names Emmanuel Uchendu, John Ikemesi,Chukwudi Nnadozie,Charles Obika,Peter Ibeneme, Sunday Nwoye and Albert Okafor came to him with a list of ten people which his name ( Christian Akuakonaobi) was included, asking him to eliminate them after helping them to eliminate one Mr. Udemmadu Ikeamaka for standing on their way to sell the community land.

It was after the village leaders had confirmed the story as being true that the entire village were informed and Mr. Emmanuel Uchendu and the six others were rounded up from their various homes by the angry villagers and marched to the village square from where they were taken and paraded around the market.

Mr.Emmanuel and the six others were taken back to the village square of Igbu village and made to swear before the fifteen deities of the community that no harm should be fall on the ten people they took their names to the native doctor or any member of the community.
