The incessant nefarious activities of the quackeries in building industry, health and other eminent professions in the recent contemporary Nigerian society has been described as a source of worry to every right thinking Nigerian.
This was made known by the Chairman, Association of Professional Bodies , Anambra State Chapter ,Mr. Joachim Ulasi at a function organized for Members of the Association in Awka.
Mr. Ulasi, who said that the activities of the Association have been doministicated in Anambra State with thirty different Professional Bodies as members, said that the Association had held its election last year 2020, but unfortunately the emergency of the Covid-19 could not allow them to hold any function last year.
Mr Ulasi, who is a Professional Town Planner, said that the event marked thier first outing for this year, adding that they are planning for his investiture as the new State Chairman of the Association by the Month of May, 2021.
He noted that the aims and objectivesof the Association was to come togther,reason toghter and have a common front as Professional Bodies, said that they are fighting toot and nail to making sure that the illegal activities of the quackeries were stopped to barest minimum in the State and else where.
Mr Ulasi, who also said that the problem they are having was that the quackeries do their job with cheap labour and that the developers patronize to them to the detriments of the real professionals,maintained that they have core Professional Bodies in building industry, Business Administration and Medicals ,among others in the financial institutions.
He noted that those of them fail to understand what was happening in the Association because of lack of awareness creation, and stressed that there is no organization in the Society that has no its own perculiar problem .
He called on Nigerian Government at all levels to always interact with the Association and tap from their expertise in solving the problem of the Country ,adding that they have the capacity to advise the Government professionally in any aspect of human endeavours.
He was of the opinion that they are making every frantic efforts for Nigerian Governmet to recognize them so that they should not seeking for Professional advisories abroad while they can get what ever Professional advise they want from them,describing the Assciotion as a clearing house for all Professional Bodies in the Country.
Mr. Ulasi, who spoke among other things, identified shortage of fund as one of the pressing challenges of the Association, saying that in the area of capacity building that they do have annual retreat where they converge at the national level and empowered professionally so that they would be current with the new trends in the Society,especially in their various areas of specialization.
