Prof. Ugboaja raises alarm over fake Facebook account

The Chief Medical Director CMD of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital NAUTH Nnewi Anambra State, Prof Joseph Ugboaja has notified members of the public to be careful of a fraudster parading himself as the CMD of the hospital on Facebook.

The disclaimer was contained in a press release signed by the Head, Corporate Affairs Department of NAUTH, Mrs Chinyere Onwuka.

“The attention of the Chief Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi has once again been drawn to certain fraudster on Facebook claiming to be ‘Dr. Ugbaja Joseph’, the CMD of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, chatting people up privately on Facebook messenger and WhatsApp, soliciting for jobs, procurement and other fraudulent requests.

“The Chief Medical Director would like to state unequivocally once again and for avoidance of doubt that the said Facebook profile/account is fake and does not belong to him.” Mrs Chinyere pointed out.

She said that a disclaimer has earlier been put out before in a national daily over the same matter and that the activity of the fraudulent person has been reported to the appropriate authorities.

“Members of the public who choose to deal with this fraudulent individual parading himself as the CMD, NAUTH are doing so at their own risk, as neither the CMD nor the management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, shall be held liable for any loss suffered by them in dealing with this fraudster.” Mrs Onwuka stressed.
