Prof Ifesinachi Ahaneku, emerges the 19th Dean of Faculty of Medicine

The election was held on Thursday, 17th August, 2023 at the Faculty of Medicine Extra-Ordinary Faculty Board meeting. The election was conducted by the Chairman of the Faculty Board, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Charles Okechukwu Esimone, FAS, FSPN; ably represented by Prof Joseph Ikechebelu, FNAmed (Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Admin); assisted by the Registrar, Barr Philomena Iwara Okoye; ably represented by Mr. Bright Anyanwu, the College Secretary. Prof Gladys was nominated and elected unopposed pulling a total number of 65 votes cast. The total accredited staff for the election was 65 people.

Consequently, Prof Gladys accepted the election and promised to run all inclusive and open administration. She avowed to build on the success of the successive Deans; to serve with humility, commitment and love for the growth of the College and the University in general. She further solicited for constructive criticisms and ideas on how to move the Faculty forward. The Chairman of the Board beckon on her to sustain and maintain the Faculty of Medicine at the best Faculty in the University.
