Prof Ejikemeuwa tasks Nigeria Leaders to eschew religious, ethnic bias in governance

A university don, Prof. Ejikemeuwa John Onyekachukwu Ndubuisi has charged our political leaders to apply some philosophical measures in eschewing all forms of bias, such as religious, political, ethnic and tribal affiliations in their leadership role, so as to move this country forward.
He observed that religious, political, ethnic and tribal affiliations being applied by our political leaders, without philosophical inclinations have done the country more harm than good.
Prof. Ndubuusi, Head of Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies and Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Tansian University, Anambra state, in his inaugural lecture at the 3rd Inaugural Lecture of Tansian University at the Law Faculty Hall of Umunya Permanent Site of the university, insisted that if our leaders can apply the understanding of philosophy as an activity in criticality, things will be much better in Nigeria.
In the lecture entitled: “Humanism, the Paranormals and the African in a Changing World: Implications for the Contemporary Nigerian Society”, the inaugural lecturer described the paranormal as a claim to know something above or beyond the normal.
He identified general manifest signs of paranormal beliefs as those experiences that pertain to ghosts, extraterrestrial life, extrasensory perception, ESP, unidentified flying objects, UFOs, telepathy, faith healing, clairvoyance and other related subjects which has to do with superhuman or supernatural beliefs which have to do with levitation, astrology and spiritualism.
He mentioned selected samples of paranormal beliefs and practices in Africa as beliefs in witchcraft, ritual killing/ritual money, divination, totemism, adding that that have both economic, social, political and health implications.
He commended the Vice-Chancellor of Tansian University, Prof. Eugene Nwadialor and other school authorities for for giving him the opportunity to deliver his inaugural lecture, adding that he is fulfilled that he has at last achieved his life time ambition of becoming a professor.
Responding, Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Nwadialor and his Deputy, Prof. Charles Onochie eulogized Prof. Ndubuisi for his erudite lecture and urged him to maintain the quality standard throughout his career endeavours and charged other would be professors to aspire to measure up with his standard quality.
