Pro-democracy activist, Sulaiman to deliver CDHR Annual Lecture in Lagos, Sunday

A pro-democracy activist, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman,has been billed to
be a Guest Speaker at the Annual Lecture of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) slated to hold on Sunday 14th of February,2021 at Rights House 43, Adeniyi Jones Avenue,Ikeja,Lagos State.

CDHR also maintained that the former National President of the CDHR,
Barrister Malachy Ugwummadu would deliver the Keynote address at the event,
while the CDHR National President, Barrister (Dr.) Osagie Obayuwana would
be on seat during the programme.

Comrade Sulaiman who is Executive Chairman, Centre for Human Rights and
Social Justice (CHRSJ), has been known as defender of rights of the
Nigerian mases including;workers and pensioners alike and true defender of
democratic values and ethos.

According to Invitation Letter to Sulaiman by the organizers of the annual
event which was signed by the duo of Comrade Adekunle Shobanke and Comrade
Ogunbiyi Samuel,the Ikeja Unit Coordinator and Secretary respectively and copies were made available to newsmen on Friday.

The Invitation Letter read thus;”The Committee for the Defence of Human
Rights (CDHR) Ikeja Unit, officially inform you that we are having our annual lecture and Award of Certificates to our members for their participation and  support in the activities of the organization as a human
rights activist which rises and defend of the downtrodden and less privilege in the society.

“We are using this medium to invite you as a Special Guest and Speaker for
this special occasion and you are to treat a topic on Human Rights with a
theme: ‘The Role of Human Rights Activist in the society ‘ and the time
allotted to you is 4.00pm -5.00pm.

“Sir, we will appreciate you for honouring our invitation as your presence
will be an honour and will be highly appreciated”.

While accepting the Invitation Letter, Sulaiman who doubles as Convener,
Save Lagos Group (SLG), thanked the organizer for honour done to him and
urged the organizers to inform the participants at the event to come along
with their Holy Quran and Bible, 1999 Constitution of Federal Republic of
Nigeria,as amended and any relevant law books guiding the operational
system of the Country.
