Pre May Day Celebration: Anambra NLC Installs Grand Patron

Just two days to the 2026 Workers day celebration, the Nigerian Labour Congress, Anambra State Council in her pre-May Day Celebration programme has installed His Royal Majesty, (Dr.) Ben Emeka, the Igwe of Umueri as the grand patron of the council.
The installation activity which took place during the 2026 Pre May Day Celebration programme organized by the executives of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Anambra Chapter at Teachers House (NUT Secretariat) Awka, would serve as a boost to the administrative strength of the Anambra NLC.
Presenting the installation certificate alongside the installation frame to the Royal Father, the Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Anambra Council, Comrade Humphrey Nwafor described him as a supportive father who has always hearkened to the cry of the council while noting that his installation as the grand patron of the council is well deserving.
He then commended the royal father for his numerous philanthropic works while noting that the installation activity and many others forms part of the 2026 Workers’ Day Celebration.
Receiving the installation, HRM, Igwe (Dr.) Ben Emeka, Oke – Ebo of Umueri now also the Grand Patron of the NLC, Anambra State, expressed joy for his installation and thanked the executives of the NLC for the adjudging him worthy of the honour.
Igwe Benette described the installation as a call to duty to further help in strengthening the cordial relationship already existing between the Anambra NLC and the government.
Oke-Ebo the second equally noted that accepting the honour was not difficult being that the Anambra government and the Anambra NLC have not in a very long time had any rift escalating beyond dialogue to a striking action.
He then assured that his time would continue to mediate peace at all time while thanking the dignitaries and all who where present at the occasion for making out time to witness his epoch installation as Grand Patron of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Anambra Council.
In the ceremony, the council also conferred a Community Service Award to the Deputy Speaker, Anambra state, RT. Hon. Chukwuma Pius Okoye in recognition of his outstanding service and grassroot impact in the state.
