POS operator docked for allegedly stealing more than N500,000

A 42-year-old POS operator, Gloria Aduwo, was docked on Wednesday docked in Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing N543,867 from her employer.

The police charged Aduwo with theft.

She, however pleaded not guilty to the charge

The Prosecution Counsel, Dr Simon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offence in June at the tradefair complex in Ojo.

He alleged that the defendant being a POS operation staff of the complainant Mary Okparachuwku, stole funds of the POS.

The defendant, he said, stole N64, 645, N317, 650, as well as a daily contribution of N161,900 all belonging to the complainant

The offence, he said, contravenes the provisions of Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

Magistrate L.J.k Layeni admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum

He adjourned the case until Dec. 7 for trial. (NAN)
