PCRC vows to mobilise community support for Police in Anambra

Mr Okechukwu Okeke, Chairman of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Anambra Chapter, has said that the body will strengthen the existing collaboration with the Police for a safer and more secured State.

Okeke said this during the maiden meeting of PCRC under his leadership at the State Police Command Headquarters.

He said the body would bridge the gap between the Police and the communities as well as mobilise the people of the state to cooperate with the security agency. 

“We just had our first meeting since my election on Jan. 19. We commend the Anambra Police Command for the good job operatives are doing. As you know, Anambra is one of the safest States.

“We shall work more collaboratively with them to ensure that criminals are not harboured in our communities.

He said the Committee would also strive to complete the ongoing Police Officers Mess before the end of his tenure.

He thanked the Anambra government for its support for the Police Command and called for more assistance in the area of logistics.

“We will help in completing the Police Officers Mess in Awka which has been ongoing for some years now.

“The Anambra government has been doing well. We thank them for their support and call on them to provide more vehicles and equipment for better and more effective performance,” he said.
