Barely two months for the conduct of the November 6 Anambra State Governorship Election by INEC, over one thousand people in the State and environs have defected to All Progressives Congress (APC) under the auspices of “Afa Igbo Bu Ofu”.

Receiving the defectors into the main fold of APC in the State, the November 6 Governorship Candidate of the party, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Uba, expressed his uncommon delights with the Leadership and Members of the group for their collective decision in joining the party at the centre in Nigeria today.
The APC Governorship Candidate, who described (AIBO) as one of the groups in the State Governor Willie Obiano is relying on, maintained that Governor Obiano led government has failed the people, hence the decision of the group to key into the mainstream at the centre.

He stated that he was particularly happy to be endorsed by the Leadership and Members of the group, saying that their action was a clear indication that APC is the party that would make things to starting working in Anambra State.
The distinguished Senator, who noted that his Government would focus on maintenance of security, provision of quality health care facilities and infrastructure in the State if he wins the election, stressed that the Federal Government has started moving down the construction equipment to the dilapidated Amansea axis of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway for work to start on the road very soon.

He debunked the rumour making round the street that it was the Anambra State Government that is responsible for the project, pointing out that all the years, the road was there unattended by Anambra State and promised the people that he will also uphold the tenets of promoting good lives and good governance in the State, if APC wins the November 6.Election in the State.

On his part, the State Chairman APC, Chief Basil Ejidike, thanked God that Ndi-Anambra has started to realizing themselves, describing the event as a clear testimony of the people’s mindsets, understanding, new idea and faith to see the need for them to make a paradigm shift, which he said that they have done with their massive defect to APC.

He thought that the State would witness a major change, if APC wins the proposed November 6 Election by reconnecting the State to the Government at centre with a view to the attractive presence that had naturally eluded the State over the years.

In an address of welcome, the National Leader of the Group, Chief Onyedikachi Chukwuma, whose address was read by the National Secretary, Mr Solomon Onwusike, said that the areas of their focus were hinged on selfless service to Ndi -Anambra, promotion of good governance, rule of law, anti-corruption crusade and human empowerment towards making the State great again. Chief Chukwuma, who said that he saw Senator Dr Ifeanyi Uba leading the State to the promised land, if he becomes the next Governor of the State, called on the people to join forces with the group in its humble efforts to make a difference in its match to progress.
